HAAS Alert Stands with the Towing Industry at TRAA Hill Day

Mar 14, 2024

In early March, four members of the HAAS Alert team attended the Towing & Recovery Association of America (TRAA) Hill Day in Washington, D.C.

This annual event brings together towing professionals, industry leaders, and policymakers for three days to advocate for safer roads and better working conditions for tow drivers.

A “Hill Day” refers to an event where individuals and the organizations they represent gather in Washington, D.C., to meet with lawmakers and advocate for specific issues or causes. These events typically involve meetings with members of the House of Representatives and Senate to discuss legislative priorities, share information, and build relationships. Hill Days help influence policy-making and raise awareness about specific issues at the federal level.

TRAA Hill Day commenced with a series of legislative workshops to offer insight into key legislative priorities and opportunities to engage in discussions on roadside safety issues. These workshops featured presentations from industry experts, setting the stage for productive discussions with members of Congress and guest speakers.

The following day, attendees could meet with legislators to voice concerns and advocate for policies supporting road safety and the towing industry. The event culminated with a state association panel addressing the towing industry's top 10 issues to underscore the significance of collaboration and advocacy in overcoming industry challenges.

At HAAS Alert, we stand with our industry partners in their fight for safer roads and better working conditions for tow drivers. Our shared goal is to put an end to tow operators dying in the line of duty.

We facilitate that change by protecting tow fleets with Safety Cloud® and standing alongside towing professionals in their fight for a safer work environment. TRAA Hill Day is an important opportunity to come together, raise awareness about key issues, and advocate for positive change. We are committed to supporting initiatives that prioritize road safety and empower towing professionals to do their jobs safely and effectively.
