The IP behind digital alerting and connected safety, held by HAAS Alert.

HAAS Alert invented digital alerting. Since 2015, we've been the first to put real-time, cloud-delivered warnings from emergency scenes, work zones, and roadway hazards into the vehicles and devices drivers are already using. Safety Cloud® is now the largest commercially deployed V2X ecosystem in the world, and the way it works isn't a feature we bolted on. It's how we designed connected safety from the ground up, and it's protected.

Our patent portfolio covers the foundations of the category: how alerts are generated and delivered based on the vehicle receiving them, how rules govern what gets sent and when, how road classification and map data shape an alert, and how connected vehicle data is collected and used to make the next alert smarter. These aren't incremental claims around a single feature. They protect the method itself.

We secured this IP for the industry as much as for ourselves. Digital alerting only works if drivers can trust that an alert means what it says, every time, from every fleet. As more companies use the words "digital alerting" and "V2X" to describe products that don't do what Safety Cloud does, the patents draw a clear line: Safety Cloud is built on patented digital alerting, and it's the one protecting responders, road crews, and drivers today.

Our Patent Portfolio

Seven granted U.S. patents and seven published applications, spanning vehicle-specific alerting, alerting rules management, map- and road-based alerting, and connected vehicle data collection. Each number links to the public record.

The patents listed here are those granted to HAAS Alert to date. HAAS Alert has additional patent applications pending, both published and not yet published, that are not listed on this page. This page is updated as new patents issue.

What this means for the fleets, agencies, and automakers on Safety Cloud

When you choose Safety Cloud, you're building on the platform that defined the category and holds the IP that protects it. That means:

Patented and owned by the company that engineered it.
The method behind every alert is HAAS Alert's, not licensed, borrowed, or reverse-engineered.

One protected standard for everyone on the platform.
‍
Every automaker, navigation partner, and fleet on Safety Cloud is on the same standard, so an alert from one fleet reaches drivers the same way as an alert from every other.

A platform built on patented digital alerting.
‍
Other offerings may borrow the language of digital alerting. The portfolio above is how you tell the difference.

A portfolio that keeps growing.
‍
Ongoing R&D keeps extending the patents, so the platform you adopt today keeps getting safer and stays protected.

Connected safety done right is protected by design. That's how we get to zero fatalities on our roads, together.
