Timely Hazard Alerts
What is digital alerting?
Digital alerting is an electronic notification sent directly to a driver. HAAS Alert leverages this technology through its flagship platform Safety Cloud®. Emergency or roadside vehicles equipped with Safety Cloud send digital alerts straight to drivers through navigation apps or vehicle infotainment centers. These alerts notify drivers that there is an emergency vehicle or roadside worker nearby and they should slow down and move over.
How does Safety Cloud digital alerting work?
Digital alerts warn drivers of an emergency vehicles and crews, work zones, and other hazards, allowing them more time to slow down, move over and make safer maneuvers. When your emergency or flashing lights are activated, Safety Cloud begins notifying drivers that your crew/vehicles are nearby. Digital alerts are proven to be more effective today than traditional lights and sirens.
Safety Cloud protects emergency personnel and roadside operators by broadcasting two types of alerts to approaching drivers:
Stationary alerts
When your emergency lights are on and your vehicle has been stationary for at least 30 seconds, Safety Cloud creates an event and begins alerting nearby drivers of your presence.
Moving alerts
When an emergency vehicle is en-route to an incident with emergency lights activated, public safety fleets send out these alerts to warn nearby drivers that they're approaching.
The benefits of digital alerting
Safety Cloud goes beyond collision risk reduction to include the following:
Operational efficiency
Use the Safety Cloud dashboard to dig into historical data and incident statistics so you can enhance safety initiatives.
Streamlined traffic flow
R2V alerts notify drivers about nearby lane closures. That way, they can move lanes without congesting traffic.
Expedited emergency operations
When a driver knows you’re nearby, they can quickly clear the path for your responding vehicle to make it to an incident faster.
Safer on-scene environment
When nearby drivers are informed of your emergency scene, they’ll be able to give responders the space they need to safely do their jobs.
Move Over law compliance
A visual and audible alert like Safety Cloud catches drivers’ attention early. That way, they can quickly slow down and move over.
Peace of mind
Your crew can have peace of mind that they are safe because drivers are being notified of your presence.
How do drivers receive Safety Cloud digital alerts?
