Three years ago, Shawn Giles was lost at a crash scene in North East, Pennsylvania. Since then, his wife Adele has worked to make sure the people he served alongside are better protected when they’re working on the road.

Through the Shawn Giles Memorial Fund, Adele brought digital alerting to five local fire departments: Fuller Hose Company #1, Crescent Hose Company, Harborcreek Fire Department, Greenfield Township Volunteer Fire Company, and Brookside Fire Co. Station 24. When their apparatus respond, nearby drivers now get an advance warning on their dashboards, navigation apps, and phones.
