ResponderSafety.com Podcast with Hanover County Fire-EMS

Mar 26, 2025

Three years ago, Hanover County Fire-EMS began retrofitting their emergency vehicles with Safety Cloud® digital alerting by HAAS Alert. The technology transmits the location of the apparatus to traffic apps, fleet management control, and sometimes to other emergency vehicles or civilian vehicles. This alert notifies drivers to slow down and move over, giving emergency responders the clearance they need to safely do their jobs.

Now that 75 vehicles are outfitted, what has been their experience retrofitting vehicles and using the technology during responses?

On the latest episode of the ResponderSafety.com podcast, Battalion Chief Matthew Stainback and Lt. Jacob B. Smith from Hanover County Fire-EMS and Matt Phillips, Safety & Risk Manager for the Hanover County Government and Hanover County Public Schools, give a joint interview to share their experience with Safety Cloud.
