HAAS Alert & Miovision Teaming Up To Transform First Responder Safety

Mar 31, 2025

March 31, 2025 — HAAS Alert, a company with the largest commercially deployed V2X safety network powered by its Safety Cloud® digital alerting platform, announced plans today to partner with Miovision, a market leader in smart city solutions that fixes tomorrow’s traffic problems, today.

Miovision operates Opticom — the largest emergency vehicle preemption (EVP) and transit signal priority (TSP) system deployed in North America with 180,000 connected vehicles and intersections. For nearly 60 years, Opticom has enabled safer and faster responses for emergency personnel. When an emergency vehicle approaches an intersection, Opticom ensures they are given the right to pass through an intersection with the green light.

HAAS Alert’s Safety Cloud platform also enables safer and faster emergency response by delivering real-time notifications from active emergency vehicles to nearby motorists over cellular networks. These alerts are sent directly to in-vehicle systems of compatible Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Volkswagen vehicles, and through leading navigation apps like Waze, giving them critical extra time to safely slow down and move over for responders when it matters most.

Now, HAAS Alert and Miovision are collaborating to develop a joint solution from Opticom and Safety Cloud, bringing the largest EVP platform in North America together with the largest commercially deployed V2X safety network. This integration has the opportunity to completely transform first responder safety on the road.

“Emergency vehicle driving is inherently dangerous,” said Kurtis McBride, CEO at Miovision. “Our work with HAAS Alert will extend the power of emergency vehicle preemption beyond intersections and into civilian vehicles, making emergency response safer in communities everywhere.”

“HAAS Alert and Miovision share a vision of creating safer and more connected roads for everyone, and our solutions work together to clear the way for first responders doing their jobs ” says Cory Hohs, CEO at HAAS Alert. “We can’t wait to demonstrate the power of this partnership in the months ahead.”

HAAS Alert and Miovision will preview their collaborative solution at this year’s FDIC Conference, set to take place in Indianapolis, Indiana from April 7-12. Visit HAAS Alert in booth #4997 and Miovision in booth #9242 for an exciting look at what’s ahead.
