HAAS Alert and Neutron Edge Partner to Deliver AI-Powered Emergency Response for Fire and EMS Agencies
Partnership pairs Safety Cloud® digital alerting with AI-driven emergency vehicle routing and traffic signal priority to help agencies respond faster and keep responders safer
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — August 12, 2026 — HAAS Alert, the company behind Safety Cloud®, and Neutron Edge, a provider of AI-powered emergency vehicle routing and intelligent transportation solutions, today announced a strategic partnership to deliver an integrated platform that helps fire departments, EMS agencies, and transportation agencies improve emergency response times while making responses safer for first responders and the traveling public.
The partnership is being announced during Fire-Rescue International (FRI) 2026 in Kansas City, where both companies are exhibiting.
Together, HAAS Alert and Neutron Edge are combining complementary technologies that connect emergency vehicles, responders, traffic infrastructure, and motorists through standards-based vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications. The integrated solution is designed to help agencies respond more quickly, navigate more safely, reduce intersection conflicts, and improve coordination across jurisdictions.
The partnership brings together Neutron Edge's AI-powered routing, traffic signal integration, and in-vehicle responder applications with HAAS Alert's Safety Cloud platform, which delivers digital alerts to connected vehicles and navigation applications so motorists receive advance warning of approaching emergency vehicles and roadside incidents. By combining cloud software, edge software, and open, standards-based V2X communications, the companies are delivering capability that has typically required significantly more infrastructure and cost.
"The future of emergency response depends on connected vehicles, connected infrastructure, and connected responders working together," said Brock Aun, Chief Strategy Officer at HAAS Alert. "By partnering with Neutron Edge, we're extending the connected response capabilities of Safety Cloud to create a more comprehensive ecosystem that helps first responders arrive faster, operate more safely, and better protect the communities they serve."
"This partnership brings together two technologies that naturally complement one another," said Carl Temme, Chief Product Officer at Neutron Edge. "Neutron Edge assists first responders and coordinates with roadway infrastructure as crews travel to an incident, while HAAS Alert helps clear the path ahead and improve awareness for everyone sharing the roadway. Together, we're giving agencies an integrated solution designed to improve safety, reduce stress on responders, and deliver measurable operational benefits while minimizing the need for new infrastructure."
Delivering Faster Emergency Response
Neutron Edge's AI-powered routing platform continuously analyzes real-time roadway conditions to recommend the fastest available route for responding fire and EMS vehicles. Unlike conventional navigation systems, the platform dynamically reroutes around active train crossings, lane closures, work zones, and other traffic disruptions that delay emergency response.
The system integrates directly with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and local traffic signal infrastructure, displaying optimized routing through Neutron Edge's in-vehicle tablet application. Its AI Co-Pilot uses historical agency and roadway data to improve routing recommendations and arrival-time predictions over time. By incorporating roadway intelligence from HAAS Alert's Safety Cloud ecosystem, the combined solution gives responding crews greater visibility into developing traffic conditions to further improve routing decisions and response times.
Improving Safety for Responders and the Public
The integrated platform enhances responder safety throughout the response. Neutron Edge's in-vehicle interface gives crews real-time awareness of other responding emergency vehicles, helping reduce the risk of responder-to-responder intersection collisions. Automated routing can avoid active work zones, school crossings, and roadways unsuitable for large apparatus, accounting for vehicle height and length restrictions.
At the same time, Safety Cloud delivers advance digital Move Over alerts to connected motorists and navigation applications, prompting drivers to slow down and move over before emergency vehicles arrive. Together, the systems support V2X communications with traffic signals, roadway signs, and warning beacons to improve protection for motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and other vulnerable road users during emergency responses.
Smarter Traffic Signal Coordination
The integrated solution enables emergency vehicles to communicate with connected traffic signals using route-aware activation rather than simple proximity-based activation. Neutron Edge shares estimated arrival times with traffic signal systems to optimize green-light timing along the response route, reducing unnecessary traffic disruption while improving emergency vehicle progression. Paired with Safety Cloud's digital motorist alerts, agencies can reduce congestion, improve traffic flow, and minimize delays for responding crews.
Better Situational Awareness
The Neutron Edge platform gives responders a comprehensive operational picture before they arrive at an incident, including estimated arrival times for all responding units, hydrant locations and flow information, and GIS mapping, with building access information and NG911 situational awareness data planned for future releases. Information shared between the two platforms further enhances the intelligence available to each, enabling more informed routing decisions, more effective responder alerting, and improved coordination among responding agencies.
Designed for Regional Mutual Aid
The combined solution supports regional emergency response through Neutron Edge's Federated Exchange, allowing independent jurisdictions to share traffic signal priority capabilities during mutual aid incidents without requiring agencies to give up local operational control. That interoperability matters most during large-scale incidents, when multiple fire departments, EMS agencies, and public safety organizations must coordinate across jurisdictional boundaries.
Simple Deployment with Existing Infrastructure
The partnership is designed to minimize deployment complexity and cost compared with other connected vehicle systems. The integrated solution uses shared in-vehicle equipment to simplify installation and does not require roadside units, edge computers, or additional hardware inside traffic signal cabinets. Agencies benefit from streamlined deployment, lower lifecycle costs, and an open, standards-based V2X architecture built for long-term interoperability and future expansion.
Fire, EMS, and public safety leaders can see the integrated solution at FRI 2026 in Kansas City at HAAS Alert booth 3037 and Neutron Edge booth 2742 (In the Tech Zone). To learn more, visit haasalert.com.
