The centerpiece among the new vehicles is the 2024 Pierce Enforcer 107-foot Ascent Heavy-Duty Aerial Truck, which takes the place of a 35-year-old ladder truck. This acquisition was made possible, in part, due to the generous $600,000 contribution from the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, and will be permanently housed at the Shingle Springs station.
The respective open houses are an invitation for the public to learn more and witness firsthand the technological advancements of their fire service. The first event will be held on Saturday, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Station 25, located at 3034 Sacramento Street, Placerville, CA. The series will continue with Station 49, 501 Pleasant Valley Rd, Diamond Springs, CA, hosting an open house on January 18, and culminating with Station 28, 3860 Ponderosa Rd, Shingle Springs, CA, opening its doors on January 25, each event running from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
