It started with a near miss…

In 2015, our co-founder and CEO Cory Hohs was almost struck by an ambulance on the road. That terrifying moment changed everything. He realized this experience was the norm for first responders and roadside workers. Quickly, it became his life mission to put an end to these near misses and preventable collisions to get all roadway users home safely.

HAAS Alert has been a steward of roadway safety and digital alerting ever since then.

2015

HAAS Alert creates Safety Cloud

HAAS Alert launches Safety Cloud, the first-ever connected safety platform with in-vehicle alerting.
2018

Digital alerting receives government funding

The United States Department of Homeland Security awards $1.1 million in development for digital alerting to meet public safety requirements.
2019

The Protecting First Responders Act passes

HAAS Alert works with legislators to support S.2700 and S.1389 in the 116th and 177th congressional sessions for the Protecting First Responders Act.
2020

Safety Cloud is Vehicle-to-Vehicle Solution of the year

Safety Cloud is named the Vehicle-to-Vehicle Solution of the Year by the AutoTech Breakthrough Awards.
2021

Safety Cloud expands digital alerting categories

Safety Cloud digital alerting expands to to protect ambulances, school buses, garbage trucks, highway traffic signals, and infrastructure.
2021

Digital alerting is codified

Digital alerting is codified and funded in the historic Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, establishing the technology as a critical tool in protecting first responders.
2022

Stellantis joins the Safety Cloud network

Global automaker Stellantis becomes the first global automaker to join the Safety Cloud platform with EVAS (Emergency Vehicle Alerting System). Millions of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles nationwide begin receiving digital alerts directly in-dash.
2023

Safety Cloud launches in Europe

Safety Cloud expands digital alerting coverage and its car-to-car messaging network across Europe.
2024

US DOT releases national deployment plan for V2X

HAAS Alert participates in the official release of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s national deployment plan for V2X.

Stewards for safety

Our team continues to advance transportation safety in many ways - from helping develop the standards for NFPA 950/951, NFPA 414, and NFPA 1900/1901 in the fire community, to working with legislators to support the Roadside First Responders Act, Move Over Task Force in Illinois, and the United States Department of Transportation’s V2X plan.

Meet HAAS Alert’s founders

Cory co-founded HAAS Alert with Noah Levens and Jigar Patel. Once, they were a trio in college. Now, they're on a mission to bring connected safety to the masses to reduce collisions and save lives.
